into their personal and professional life. This program is designed to maximize personal growth and effectiveness so that participants can positively impact their workplace, home and community.
Ty and I were a part of this year-long program and that is where I first met Dick. He is one of those individuals that exude passion for life and passion for people and you cannot help but be drawn to him.
Dick and I were in a small group together during the kick off weekend retreat, so I was able to get to know him a bit more personally. He has had a fascinating life and been able to impact scores of individuals. That weekend Dick had a powerful impact on my life personally and was used by God to speak into my life at a very key time.
After hearing me present to the group a couple of times he pulled me aside and basically said, "Terri you have a gift for speaking and teaching and you need to step out into all God has ahead for you." I knew that I liked to speak and had been given some opportunities in the past, but I was basically on the sidelines playing it safe. It is scary to step out and put yourself out there. Dick was part of the "tipping point" that made me realize it was selfish to not use the talents I had been given. They were not for me, they were for those that God would bring across my path.
This blog, my website, my book club and Hope-Filled Marriage are partly the result of this kind man looking me in the eye and basically saying, "get off the bench". I am so grateful to Dick Amondson for caring enough to give me the push I so badly needed.
What about you? What are you doing with the talents and gifts you have been given by God? Let me tell you that they were not given to you for your personal benefit. They are to enrich the lives of those around you. So as Dick said to me, "Get off the bench"!!
