It is a lie that wants you to believe that having an affair would be the answer to all that is wrong in your life. That having an affair would bring the excitement that you are longing for and perhaps even deserve. It fuels that lie that life has given you a bum wrap and now is the time for you to have some good things happen to you.
Here is the truth about having affair:
It will break your children's hearts
You will be living with secrets
You will feel ashamed
You will be living a lie
You will potentially be contributing to destroying someone else's marriage
It will weaken your resolve to stay committed to your marriage
It will cause you to focus your energy in the wrong relationship
It will further convince you of the lie that life is all about your happiness
I have heard the quote, "The grass is greener where you water it." Those of us who are married know how much work it is to have a healthy marriage. There are tough and discouraging days and seasons in every marriage. Another quote I like is from Donald Miller's Storyline. He says, "One of the most crippling beliefs a person can have is that life is suppose to be easy."
It takes maturity to stay the course in tough times. Please let me urge you to stay true to your marriage vows. They are called vows for a reason. They are not suggestions or options or even guidelines, they are vows. A vow is a promise made no matter what. You know how it goes...for better or worse, in sickness and in health, until death do us part.
Life is short, that part I agree with, so.... DO THE RIGHT THING!!!!!
